Mormonism is among the fastest growing and most influential religions, yet for most Americans, it remains shrouded in mystery and misunderstanding. Our presentation and discussion will touch on the founding and history of the Mormon Church, as well as its practices, teachings, and culture.
Our speaker will be Richard L. Bushman, PhD. Professor Bushman is the Gouverneur Morris Professor of History emeritus at Columbia University. He holds a BA, MA, and PhD from Harvard, where he also served as visiting professor of American history. Bushman is the author of nearly a dozen scholarly books and is one of the founding general editors of the Joseph Smith Papers.
