Stephen has guided the revitalization and growth of Christ Church since 1987. As Senior Minister and head-of-staff, he is the principle preacher and worship leader and focuses energy on strategic visioning, growth and leadership development. The Reverend Violet L. D. Lee, Ph.D. is the Executive Program Minister of Christ Church, United Methodist, of New York City. She serves as the Academic Advisor to the M.Div/MS(S)W students enrolled in Columbia University and Hunter College’s Social Work Programs and is a regular Adjunct Professor/Visiting Lecturer for Union Theological Seminary. Having served in both the public and private sector, she has also served as a Pastoral/Church Consultant. Dr. Lee serves on the Ordination Council for the American Baptist Churches – Metropolitan New York and is a former member of the Board of Directors. She has recently been elected to the Board of Directors for New York State Council of Churches and the Methodist Home for Nursing and Rehabilitation. Brian began his ministry at Christ Church in 2008 through teaching Bible study in the Sunday morning Adult Forum. In addition to creating adult education programs, Brian offers spiritual direction and gives retreats. He and his wife Jessica also lead the children and families ministry. Brian is a graduate of St. Joseph’s and Fordham Universities as well as the Fairfield University certificate program in spiritual direction. Jacob “Jake” earned a Bachelors of Music Degree in Education and Voice from Concordia College (Moorhead, MN) and a Masters of Music in Sacred Music from Westminster Choir College (Princeton, NJ). After previously serving congregations throughout Minnesota and New Jersey in both music and youth ministries, Jake began his journey at Christ Church with the music department as a tenor in the Chancel Choir, a recurring soloist for services and events, and the Parish Choir Director. He is excited to dive further into creating and nourishing community as he takes on more responsibilities with the youth, young adults, and LGBTQ+ ministries at Christ Church. Contact Jake.
Dr. Steve Pilkington began his service at Christ Church in 1994. He oversees all the music ministries at Christ Church, as well as serves on the faculty of Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ where he serves as Associate Professor of Sacred Music. A graduate of St. Olaf College and the University of Illinois, Steve earned a Ph.D. in Liturgics from Drew University. Contact Steve.
A native of the Upper East Side, Roseann has served as parish Administrator since 1993. She oversees the daily operations of the building, coordinates capital projects, manages building staff, and administers the finances of the church and day school. Mickey a native of Brooklyn is of Puerto Rican descent. As a bi-vocational and bilingual pastor, Mickey serves as clergy at Christ Church Washington Heights, leading worship in English and Spanish and providing pastoral care. Mickey’s professional experience, in addition to ministry, includes working as a licensed psychotherapist. Mickey also serves as a lecturer at the City College of New York and has also lectured at Fordham University in the past. Mickey earned his B.A. at Hunter College, majoring in History and Religion, his M.S.W. at Fordham University focusing on Clinical Social Work and specializing in the treatment of addiction, and his M.Div. from New York Theological Seminary. Monika holds an MSW from NYU’s Silver School of Social Work. Monika and her mom immigrated to California in 1986 from Guatemala. She graduated with a Social Work degree from California State University, Los Angeles in 2004. She was one of the Co-leaders for the Latinx Social Work Student Organization. Monika was one of the 13 pioneering students of the full semester in Buenos Aires MSW program. Monika is interested in working with immigrant Latino families, children and youth.
