We would like to extend a hearty invitation to your family to enter into the Christ Church community and experience God through new and old friends; on Sunday mornings and other days, in multi-age large groups, and in small groups of peers. Below you will find descriptions of the ways in which your children and family may enter into life at Christ Church. Kathryn Carroll, Director of Programs for Families with Children.
Our Sunday mornings for children include a dynamic mix of experiences which are drawn from the non-sacramental components and order of liturgical worship and styled for kids. These will occur mainly in small peer groups, with a full assembly at the beginning and the end of the hour. The theme for each Sunday will be derived from the lectionary which coincides with the readings in sanctuary worship so that children and adults can share common threads in the Sunday liturgy. We approach biblical themes and texts through multiple mediums and curricula, including Whole People of God, Godly Play, Praying in Color, and an Illustrated Children’s Ministry. Children will experience times of fun, learning, friendship, reflection, play, and creativity.

Each room is staffed with a minimum of two professional childcare providers. All of our Nursery staff have been working with us for five years or more. They have received background checks and are certified in CPR and First Aid. We are very fortunate that these skilled professionals approach their work as a mission to create a loving and secure first church experience for the youngest ones. Our nursery is not a separation program. Parents are free to stay or leave at their own discretion. We partner with families to accommodate individual needs and development.
In each classroom, or peer group, at least one staff teacher partners with one or two trained volunteer church members to lead program content, activities, and nurture. All staff and volunteers comply with Safe Sanctuary policies. Our teachers are dedicated, creative, and most of all love to be with children in shared experiences of faith formation and exploration. Most of our volunteer member teachers have been part of our Sunday Morning programs for many years, but we welcome new leadership and offer every level of entry for volunteers.
