Dear Friends,

Please join me in welcoming the Rev. Dr. Violet Lee to Christ Church as our new Executive Program Minister. With sixteen years of experience as Assistant Pastor of Abyssinian Baptist Church, a storied New York City congregation, and holding both MSW and PhD degrees, she comes to us well-prepared to help shape the contours of our evolving church life and ministry.

The mother of two young children, Rev. Lee lives with her family in Hollis, Queens, where her husband serves as Priest-in-Charge of an Episcopal congregation. They are a well-churched family!

I believe that as you come to know Violet you will agree with me that we have found an excellent partner, teacher, and pastor. Your Staff/Parish Relations (personnel) Committee did a fine job of recruitment here recognizing the importance of securing a seasoned minister with skillsets commensurate with our need. Rev. Lee will guide and coordinate the overall programmatic elements of our church life, including programming initiatives in Washington Heights.

Rev. Lee will begin her work with us on Sunday, October 16 when I hope you will be present to warmly receive her into our family of faith.

Great days lay ahead for us, exciting and challenging days, as we continue to grow into the people God originally intended.
