Advent with the Psalms – Mickey Correa

December 6th, 2018 by Mickey Correa

Psalm 118:26

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

Advent is a time of expectation and preparation.  It’s a short journey to a wondrous experience.  While the festive nature of the season ropes us into celebration mode, it is a time of profound reflection.   Maybe what we like about the season are the gifts, scenes and scents that enthrall us.  But maybe this is the way God wants to draw us nearer to the mystery of the God who wants to become alive in our lives.  Opening up to the mystery of God is what Advent is about; embracing and being embraced.  Christ comes to us anew as a fortuitous reflection of grace in troubling times like this.  Be open to what that came mean for you and through you to others in your community.

Prayer: God, during this time, make yourself known to me in ways that I can’t even imagine.  And let me know that it is you and no other!
