Advent with the Psalms – Amelia Acerra

December 5th, 2018 by Amelia Acerra

Psalm 23:1-3

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
In verdant pastures he gives me repose;
Beside restful waters he leads me;
he refreshes my soul.

I find comfort in Psalm 23:1-3. It reminds me that God has my back in every way. God will take care of me the way a Good Shepherd cares for his sheep. I shall not worry about food, water, protection or shelter. Though my heart knows this to be true, it is sometimes a challenge for my head to believe this fully.

This past summer, my family made the decision to move back to New York from Texas. We prayed for God to lead the way and open doors if this was to be the right move for our family. This cross-country move experience has been a great reminder of God’s love and provision for us.

Today, stop and remember that God sees you. God knows all of your needs before you do. We need only to lean into God each and every day.
