Advent with the Psalms – Amelia Acerra

December 14th, 2018 by Amelia Acerra

Psalm 1:6

The LORD watches over the way of the just,

but the way of the wicked vanishes.

For those of us that know God, we may feel we are automatically walking the righteous, just, “right” path. The choice is not about just knowing God but walking closely with God. Choosing daily, hourly, or minute-to-minute, to say “no” to sin and to walk the path Jesus set before us; finding our joy, hope and delight in God. This is not something that comes easily or automatically because we are believers. It comes only from making God’s Word a part of our being and our lives; finding the answers to life’s questions in God’s Word—for relationships, parenting, work, fulfillment and everything in between. In the end we are either walking with God or away from Him. There is no in between.

Make spending time in God’s Word part of your daily routine, keeping it close and making it a part of whom you are. Practicing it until it becomes the ways of your life.
