Early Christian Architecture

Wednesday, April 07, 2010

6:30 p.m.

Christ Church, Park Ave. & 60th St.

This class traces a path from early Christianity to Byzantine to Romanesque architecture and culminates in the flowering, maturation, and spread of Gothic. This formative period, characterized by both borrowing and innovation, created the first architectural styles appropriate to the developing principles and liturgy of the Christian church. Led by Christ Church member, architect and professor Donald Cromley, this will be a three week class – meeting on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. starting April 7.
